The wonderful thing about visiting your local Goodwill or thrift store is that you never know what you will find. A few days ago I went to the Goodwill in Orland Park for the first time. I brought Henry and Molly along for the ride and shockingly it was actually better than I expected.
The selection in furniture wasn’t much but I did find a few pieces that I thought would make for a good purchase. I found two matching shield back chairs, one with arms but broken back and the other with no arms but cracked leg and back. After a full inspection I decided that the chair without arms would be coming home with me. Molly said I was crazy for buying the chair and I don’t blame her.
While doing some research on products to use for transforming the chair I got the inspiration needed for this project. Here is what’s going to happen
Step One: Remove old cushion fabric and staples
Step Two: Sand the chair to remove the previous stain
Step Three: Fix the crack on the back leg/make leg sturdy
Step Four: Stain or paint wood frame black
Step Five: Purchase luxurious fabric for the cushion
Step Six: Put the chair back together and make it fabulous
Step Seven: Sit back and relax
There it is, Hopefully everything goes according to plan and this chair comes out looking like a million bucks.
